This morning, Year 4 Starlight Class welcomed parents and carers into school for a joyful and inspiring class showcase, celebrating the children’s learning and achievements from this term.
The classroom was filled with a lovely, warm atmosphere as children confidently shared their superb work and reflected on how much they have learned across a wide range of subjects. It was a true celebration of how the children continue to Love, Learn and Shine at St Peter’s.
📚 Learning to be proud of
Children talked proudly about their history learning on the Romans, sharing fascinating facts and explaining what life was like in Roman Britain. Parents were also treated to examples of the children’s amazing creative writing, inspired by their class text Krindlekrax. The quality of imagination, vocabulary and storytelling was a real highlight of the morning.
In science, children explained their learning and enthusiastically shared memories from their visit to The Railway Museum, describing what they discovered and how it helped bring their learning to life.
🎶 Performing with confidence
The children sang beautifully, performing Dragon Song with confidence and expression. Linked to their English word reading work, the children also read aloud clearly and fluently, impressing parents with their growing confidence and skill.
🏕️ Memories from Herd Farm
A particularly special part of the showcase was hearing the children talk about their residential trip to Herd Farm. They spoke excitedly about the activities they took part in, what they enjoyed most, and how the experience helped them to grow in independence, teamwork and resilience.
At the end of the session, parents were invited to look through examples of the children’s work, giving everyone a chance to celebrate the progress and effort shown throughout the term.
💬 From the class teachers

Mrs Martin added:
“Today really showed how much the children have grown — not just in their learning, but in their confidence and love of learning. We are so proud of them all.”
