From Storytime to Song: A Roaring Success with Andy Day! 🎶📖
We were absolutely delighted to welcome CBBC superstar and author Andy Day to St Peter’s CE Primary School today for a truly unforgettable visit! The excitement across school was palpable, and our children certainly made the most of this special opportunity.

Andy began by sharing his fantastic book Dino Racers, bringing the story to life as he read aloud. The children were captivated as they discovered the main characters and learned all about their unique “power ups” – special powers and skills that made each dinosaur stand out. It was wonderful to see imaginations sparked and enthusiasm for reading shining through.
“It was such a joy to see the children so engaged and inspired by Andy’s storytelling. Experiences like this really bring reading to life and encourage a lifelong love of books,” said Miss Corrigan.
As well as storytelling, Andy shared his incredible knowledge about dinosaurs, fascinating the children with fun facts before finishing with an exciting quiz that had everyone eagerly joining in.
The hall then came alive with music as Andy performed one of his songs. The children loved learning the actions and enthusiastically joining in with the chorus – there were smiles, laughter and lots of energy all around!
To top off the visit, Andy introduced his brand new book, Dylan the Dino Boy Saves the Zoo, leaving many children eager to read more and continue their dinosaur adventures.
One child shared,
“My favourite part was the song because we all got to join in, and I loved learning about the dinosaurs’ powers!”
