We were delighted to take a 12 strong team to St Aidan’s this morning to compete in a summer inter school athletics competition. Having developed our knowledge and skills in our PE lessons this term and following our own school sports day it was great to then test ourselves competing against other schools.
Children from Reception and Year 1&2 competed in track and field events including sprints, distance, relay and long jump earning points for their school. In the Reception group St Peter’s emerged as winners and in the Year 1&2 group runners up. Very well done to all who took part. A big thank you also to the PE staff at St Aidan’s and the Year 10 young leaders who helped organise and run the event.
