Harvest Celebrations

Oct

We were delighted to share our worship today with families and friends in St Peter’s church as we celebrated our Harvest Festival.

During a lovely service led by the children we took time to pause and give thanks for all those involved in growing and producing the food we eat each and everyday. We reflected on the beauty of the natural world and how we can all play our part in caring for our planet. The children led the service superbly well with singing, readings and prayers.

Thank you to everyone who attended to join us and for all the generous donations of food that will be put to good use in the weekly St Peter’s Church supermarket which provides essential food items to those who need them on a no questions asked basis. This takes place every Thursday at St Peter’s Church from 4.30pm. Donations can also be made throughout the year using the baskets at the front and back of church.

The children are pleased to share below their Harvest prayer from today’s service.

Lord of the Harvest

We welcome your Spirit to work in our lives.

Let your Word take root so that,

Your love may grow up,

Your joy may spread out,

and your peace become deeper in us each day.

Let the colours of your creation pattern our lives with your beauty.

Amen
