Kingfishers Learn About Recycling and Looking After Our World
Yesterday, Kingfishers explored the importance of recycling and how we can all help to look after our world. The children had thoughtful discussions about how we can reduce waste by reusing materials for crafts and projects, rather than always buying new resources or throwing things away.
As part of their learning, the children looked at some incredible sculptures created from rubbish that had been washed up on beaches. They were amazed to see how discarded items could be transformed into beautiful works of art while also raising awareness about pollution and protecting our environment.
The children then thought about how they could make a positive difference by reusing everyday materials and making more environmentally friendly choices. It was wonderful to see their creativity and enthusiasm as they considered new ways to turn old items into something useful and exciting.

They were fascinated by the artwork created from beach litter and had some fantastic ideas about how we can reuse materials instead of throwing them away. It was wonderful to see them thinking carefully about how their actions can help look after God’s world.”
This learning linked closely to our school vision of Love, Learn, Shine. By learning about sustainability and caring for the environment, the children are developing the knowledge and values needed to make a positive contribution to the world around them.
