‘Bikeability’ Cycle Training

Sep

We have been delighted to welcome the team from North Yorkshire ‘Bikeability’ into school this week. This is the first of several visits over the course of this term to work with children in Year Six. ‘Bikeability’ is the leading cycle training programme in England.

‘Bikeability’ cycle training equips children with vital life skills. Children not only learn to cycle, they gain independence, social skills and a sense of wellbeing.

After ‘Bikeability’, children are better at responding to risk and report increased confidence. As a result, children have increased confidence to use their bikes to cycle to school and to get around in general which in turn improves mental health and wellbeing. This allows children to get more out of the classroom, improving their attention span and engagement.  ‘Bikeability’ goes beyond a training course; it impacts children’s lives contributing to preparing them well for their futures.

Thank you to the team and a huge well done to all the children who have taken part so far.
