Upper Key Stage Two Art and Design
Children in Upper Key Stage Two have been developing their knowledge and skills of sculpture in their Art and Design Learning (Ancient Egyptian Canopic Jars).
Using their designs, children have learnt pinch pot techniques to sculpt and inscribe. They have also learnt about the importance of scoring and slipping when joining two pieces of clay together.
Having previously learnt about the purpose and features of canopic jars when studying Ancient Egypt in History they have been able to apply this prior knowledge combined with their new knowledge and skills to create their very own canopic jars.
