🎨 Autumn Artists at Work in Sparrows Class

🌿 Creating an Autumn Floor Masterpiece

The children in Sparrows Class have been busy developing their artistic skills through a beautiful autumn-themed art project. Inspired by the colours, textures and patterns of the season, they explored a range of techniques before creating their very own Autumn Floor artwork.
Throughout the unit, the children carefully observed natural objects, drawing from observation and paying close attention to the details, shapes and textures they could see. They learnt how artists use observation to capture the world around them and practised looking closely at the wonderful features found in nature.
The children also explored a variety of printing techniques, including wax rubbings and leaf paint printing. They discovered how different leaves create unique patterns and experimented with combining textures, colours and shapes to create interesting effects. By layering their drawings, prints and rubbings, they developed their creative ideas and produced final pieces that celebrated the beauty of autumn.
As well as learning new artistic techniques, the children reflected on their work throughout the project, discussing what had gone well and identifying ways they could improve. They collaborated with friends, shared ideas and supported one another to create artwork they were proud of.
This project reflected our school vision of Love, Learn and Shine. The children demonstrated creativity, perseverance and collaboration whilst developing confidence in expressing themselves through art.

“I have loved seeing the children’s enthusiasm throughout this project. They have shown great creativity and resilience as they experimented with different techniques and carefully refined their work. Their finished Autumn Floor pieces are something they should all be very proud of.”
