🌟 From Flying Books to Fantastic Poems

This week, the children have been inspired by the beautiful story The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore. Through their writing journey, they explored the magic and power of books, using their wonderful imaginations to create vivid imagery and experiment with figurative language.
The children thought carefully about how books can transport us to new worlds, spark our creativity and fill our minds with adventure. Throughout the week, they developed their understanding of descriptive language before bringing all their ideas together to write their own imaginative poems.

One child reflected on their learning, saying,

“I liked imagining books coming alive and flying through the sky. It helped me think of exciting ideas for my poem.”

Mr Radcliffe said,

“The children have shown incredible creativity this week. Their poems are full of imagination, ambitious vocabulary and thoughtful imagery, demonstrating just how powerful books can be in inspiring young writers.”

It has been a joy to see the children’s confidence and creativity shine through their writing. Their work perfectly reflects our school vision of Love, Learn, Shine as they developed a love of stories, learned new writing techniques and shone through their imaginative and expressive poetry. πŸ“–βœ¨
