Why Walk Before School?

Starting the day actively brings so many benefits for children:
🧠 Emotional Wellbeing
  • Helps children arrive feeling calmer and ready to learn.
  • Reduces stress and anxiety.
  • Creates valuable family time and opportunities for conversation.
  • Boosts confidence and independence.
πŸ’ͺ Physical Health
  • Improves fitness and cardiovascular health.
  • Develops strength, balance and coordination.
  • Encourages healthy habits for life.
  • Provides fresh air and energy before the school day begins.
Research consistently shows that children who are active before school are often more focused, alert and ready for learning when they arrive in class.

Can We Reach 50?

Our challenge is simple:
🌟 Let’s aim for more than 50 children and families taking part on Friday!
It would be fantastic to begin our six Walk to School Days with bumper participation and make our first event the biggest yet. Together we can reduce traffic around school, support healthy lifestyles and enjoy spending time together as a community.
At St Peter’s, we know that when children arrive happy, healthy and ready for the day ahead, they are better able to Love, Learn and Shine. We look forward to seeing lots of families stepping, wheeling and wagging their way to school this Friday.
