Football & Netball Sporting Shine 🏐⚽

Oct
Children from St Peter’s have once again demonstrated what it means to Love, Learn and Shine through their outstanding efforts at recent sporting events.
Six Year 5 and 6 girls represented the school at a netball tournament held at Rossett High School, competing against three other schools. The team performed brilliantly, winning one match and narrowly losing two closely contested games.
Mrs Oldfield was delighted with the progress the children had made, particularly as some were experiencing competitive netball for the very first time.

“The improvement in the children’s netball skills over recent weeks has been tremendous,” said Mrs Oldfield. “It was wonderful to see them working together so well, encouraging one another and showing great teamwork throughout the tournament.”

Meanwhile, six Year 1 and 2 children travelled to Harrogate High School to take part in a football festival. Following a fun warm-up game of Rock, Paper, Scissors Tig, the children were mixed into teams with children from other schools and quickly embraced the opportunity to make new friends.
Throughout the event, the children showed fantastic confidence, teamwork and sportsmanship, working positively with others and encouraging one another every step of the way.
A special congratulations goes to Max P, who received a Sporting Influence wristband for his excellent sportsmanship, selfless passing and thoughtful play, ensuring others had opportunities to score and enjoy the game. Bowie also received a wristband in recognition of his determination and perseverance.
Headteacher Mr Griffiths said:
“We are incredibly proud of every child who represented St Peter’s at these events. They demonstrated not only skill and determination but also kindness, teamwork and respect for others. The way they supported and encouraged one another truly reflects our vision to Love, Learn and Shine. They were fantastic ambassadors for our school, and we celebrate all they achieved.”
Well done to all the children who took part and represented St Peter’s so positively. Your enthusiasm, resilience and teamwork made us all proud. πŸŒŸπŸ’™πŸ’›
