🌞 Sunshine and Signs of Autumn As Wrens Go on an Autumn Hunt

The children in Wrens Early Years class enjoyed a wonderful autumn adventure today as they headed out into the sunshine to discover the changing season around them.
During their autumn hunt, the children explored the beautiful Library Gardens, carefully looking for signs that autumn has arrived. They were excited to find colourful leaves in shades of red, orange and gold, collect shiny conkers, and even watch leaves gently floating down from the branches of the trees.
The outing provided a fantastic opportunity for the children to develop their observation skills, talk about the world around them and appreciate the beauty of nature. There was lots of excitement as they shared their discoveries with friends and compared the different treasures they had found.

Mrs Renton said, “It was wonderful to see the children so engaged and curious as they explored the outdoors. They spotted lots of signs of autumn and enjoyed talking about the seasonal changes they could see all around them. Watching the leaves drift down from the trees was a particularly magical moment.”

To continue the learning at home this weekend, families might like to:
  • πŸ‚ Go on an autumn walk and collect leaves of different colours and shapes.
  • 🌰 Look for conkers, acorns and other seasonal treasures.
  • 🎨 Create an autumn collage using natural materials.
  • πŸ“š Share a favourite autumn story together.
  • πŸ” See how many signs of autumn you can spot in your local area.
Activities like these help children build their understanding of the changing seasons while encouraging curiosity and a love of the natural world.
At St Peter’s, opportunities such as these help our children to Love, Learn and Shine, developing a sense of wonder about God’s world and the changing seasons all around us. ✨🍁
