🧩 Growing Through Challenges – Starlings Rise to the Challenge!
This week, Starlings Class took part in a series of exciting mathematical challenges, putting their problem-solving skills to the test while embracing our learning about having a growth mindset.
Working collaboratively, the children tackled a range of tasks that encouraged them to think deeply, persevere when things became tricky and support one another. It was wonderful to see such excellent teamwork on display, with the children sharing ideas, listening carefully to each other and celebrating success together.
The challenges were not always easy, but the children showed fantastic resilience and determination, demonstrating that mistakes are an important part of learning and growth. Their positive attitudes and willingness to keep trying helped them overcome obstacles and develop their mathematical confidence.
Mrs Varley, Starlings Class Teacher and Maths Leader, said: “I was incredibly proud of the children as they approached each challenge with enthusiasm, perseverance and a positive attitude. They worked brilliantly as a team, encouraged one another and showed great resilience when faced with tricky problems. It was fantastic to see them applying their mathematical thinking so creatively and demonstrating the confidence and determination that help children become successful learners.”
These activities provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to live out our school vision of Love, Learn, Shine. By embracing challenges, supporting one another and never giving up, the children showed just how much they can achieve when they believe in themselves and each other.
