Sparrows Class Enjoy a Brilliant Seaside Adventure
Our Year 2 Sparrows class had an absolutely fantastic day yesterday on their seaside visit to Saltburn! It was a joyful, enriching experience filled with laughter, discovery, and opportunities for every child to Love, Learn and Shine.
A massive thank you goes to Miss Corrigan for all her hard work in organising and leading such a memorable trip. We are also incredibly grateful to our wonderful parent volunteers who gave up their time to support the children throughout the day—your help made all the difference.
A Day Full of Discovery
The day was packed with exciting activities that brought learning to life:
🪨 The children enjoyed building rock piles on the beach and used them creatively to make pictures in the sand.
🌅 They explored the promenade and pier, discussing the human and physical features they could spot, including cliffs, sand, beach huts and shops.
🚂 A real highlight was the miniature train ride to the Valley Gardens, where the children relaxed, had their lunch and enjoyed a well-earned ice cream.
🏖️ Back at the beach, the children had time to play with friends, build sandcastles and dig impressive holes in the sand.

Miss Corrigan shared: “I am so proud of how the children represented our school. Their curiosity, teamwork and enthusiasm shone throughout the day—it truly was a joy to see them learning beyond the classroom.”

“The train ride was the best ever—I loved going really fast!”
“I liked making pictures with rocks and shells on the sand.”
“Playing on the beach with my friends made me really happy.”

This trip perfectly reflected our school vision. The children showed love through kindness and teamwork, they learned about the seaside environment in a hands-on way, and they truly shone with their enthusiasm and positive attitudes throughout the day.
