Whole School Sporting Shine on The Stray

What a wonderful morning we shared together on The Stray for our annual Sports Day! Although we began with a slightly drizzly start, the weather soon mirrored the spirit of the day, and the sun broke through just as our children began to truly shine.
It was a joy to see our whole school community come together, with every child taking part in a fantastic range of sporting challenges. From running and jumping races to throwing events, there were opportunities for everyone to get involved, test their skills and, most importantly, enjoy being active together. The smiles, encouragement and determination on display truly reflected our school vision of Love, Learn, Shine.
A huge thank you must go to Mrs Renton for her excellent planning and organisation of the event, ensuring everything ran smoothly and that each child had the opportunity to succeed. We are also very grateful to all the volunteers who supported us throughout the morning—it was wonderful to have such strong community involvement.

Mrs Renton, our PE Leader, shared her pride in the children:

“It was fantastic to see every child getting involved and giving their best. The way they supported one another and showed determination really reflects what we are all about at St Peter’s—helping every child to love sport, learn new skills and shine in their own way.”

We would like to say a big well done to all the children, who demonstrated fantastic teamwork, resilience and enthusiasm. They truly embodied our vision, showing love in their encouragement of one another, learning through challenge and proudly shining in their efforts.

The children themselves summed up the day brilliantly:

“I loved trying all the different races and cheering for my friends!”
“The jumping and throwing were my favourite because we got to try new things.”
“Everyone was so kind and helped each other—it made it really fun.”

We were also delighted to announce our Craven Cup winners this year—Noah and Sofia. Through their dedication to sport both in and out of school, and their commitment across a wide range of activities, they are fantastic role models for others. Very well done to both of them!
Finally, a big thank you to FOSP for providing refreshing ice pops at the end of the event—much appreciated by children and adults alike!
It was a brilliant morning of sport, fun and togetherness—one we will all remember fondly, and a perfect example of our children living out our vision to Love, Learn and Shine every day.
