๐Ÿšฆ Stop, Look, Listen and Think! Year 2 Sparrows Learn About Road Safety

Year 2 Sparrows have been busy learning important life skills in their PSHE lesson this week, focusing on how to stay safe when near roads.
The children learned how to identify safe places to cross, such as pedestrian crossings, and discussed hidden dangers including driveways, parked cars and areas where it can be hard to see approaching traffic. They talked carefully about why it is so important to Stop, Look, Listen and Think every time they are near or crossing a road.
A key part of the learning was understanding how distractions can make crossing unsafe. The children explored how staying focused helps them notice traffic and other hazards more easily. They also practised listening carefully for traffic sounds, helping them to become more aware of their surroundings and make safer choices.
Miss Corrigan was really pleased with the thoughtful discussions and engagement from the class:
โ€œThe children showed fantastic awareness and maturity during our road safety learning. They asked sensible questions and were keen to practise making safe choices that will help keep them and others safe every day.โ€
