🌿 Easter Joy at St Peter’s Church
Today, our whole school gathered at St Peter’s Church for a beautiful Easter Service filled with
Add Post story, song, and reflection. It was wonderful to be welcomed so warmly by the church community, and we are grateful for their continued partnership and support.
Throughout our worship, the children explored the Easter story and its powerful messages of forgiveness, love, hope, and new beginnings—all central to our school vision of Love, Learn, Shine.

🎵 A Service Led with Confidence and Heart
Children from across the school took the lead with:
- Thoughtful readings retelling the Easter story
- Songs from the whole school and KS2 choir
- A joyful performance of Easter Jubilation from Early Years and KS1
Their confidence and enthusiasm filled the church with celebration, and we were incredibly proud of the way they shone.
đź’› Reflecting on Forgiveness
This half term, children have been learning about the meaning of forgiveness, and during the service KS2 shared an acrostic poem, “Forgiveness Is…”. Their words reminded us how forgiveness can mend friendships, bring peace, and help us grow together.
Forgiveness is…….
Forgetting the hurts
Offering a new beginning
Restoring a friendship
Given and received
Identifying responsibility
Valuing the truth
Ending an argument
Not holding a grudge
Encouraging honesty
Saying sorry
Starting again
We also heard reflections from children who visited our specially created Prayer Space earlier this term—a calm place to pause, think, and explore feelings linked to the Easter story. We are very thankful to the volunteers from St Peter’s and St Paul’s who helped create this special area.
🌸 A Fond Farewell to Mrs Armstrong
Our service also gave us the chance to say a warm and heartfelt thank you to Mrs Armstrong, who leaves St Peter’s today after an incredible 10 years of dedicated service.
Children and staff gathered to wish her well, present her with gifts, and dedicate a song in her honour. It was a touching moment that celebrated her kindness, commitment, and the positive impact she has had on so many children over the years. She leaves with our love, best wishes, and deepest gratitude.
🙏 Prayers and Blessing
The service closed with prayers led by the children and a blessing, reminding us all of the hope and joy that Easter brings.
Our Easter Prayer
| Dear God,
Thank you for the joy and hope that Easter brings. Thank you for Jesus, who showed us what forgiveness looks like through his love and his life. And thank you for his resurrection, which reminds us that hope and new beginnings are always possible.
Help us to remember the Easter story and the message it teaches us—that forgiving others can bring peace, new beginnings, and happier hearts.
Please help us to be kind and brave enough to say sorry when we need to, and to forgive others just as you forgive us.
As we celebrate Easter with our friends and families, may we share your love, your hope, and your forgiveness with everyone around us.
Amen. |
✨ Love, Learn, Shine at Easter
Our Easter Service was a beautiful reminder of what makes St Peter’s so special: our caring community, our strong partnership with St Peter’s Church, and, most of all, our wonderful children who truly love, learn and shine.
We wish all our families a peaceful and happy Easter.
