🚦On the Road to Confidence: Year 6 Complete Bikeability Training 🚴‍♀️

🚲 What is Bikeability?

Bikeability is the government’s national cycle training programme, designed to give children the skills and confidence to cycle safely. Delivered by qualified instructors, the programme includes a mix of on-site and on-road training, tailored to each child’s ability. From mastering bike control to navigating junctions and understanding road signs, our pupils have truly embraced the challenge.

You can find out more about the programme here: https://www.bikeability.org.uk

👏 A Huge Thank You to Our Instructors

We would like to extend our thanks to the Bikeability instructors, whose patience, encouragement and expertise made the experience both fun and educational. Their dedication ensured every child had the opportunity to grow in confidence and skill.

🎉 Congratulations to Our Cyclists!

A massive well done to all our Year 6 children for their enthusiasm and determination throughout the training. You have shown great resilience and responsibility—true examples of how we Love, Learn, Shine at St Peter’s.

🙏 Thank You, Parents and Carers

We are also incredibly grateful to our parents and carers for ensuring bikes were brought to school each day and for your generous donations, which helped make this valuable experience possible.

🚴‍♂️ Everyday Cycling & Walking Encouraged

As part of our ongoing commitment to healthy lifestyles and sustainability, we’d like to remind families that we have free, safe and secure cycle parking on site for children, parents and staff. We encourage everyone to make use of this facility and, where possible, consider walking or cycling to school.
We also understand that for some families, using the car is necessary. All parents are entitled to a St Peter’s Parking Pass, which allows free parking outside school and on surrounding roads—making drop-offs and pick-ups easier and safer for everyone.

Here’s to many more safe and happy journeys on two wheels! 🚴‍♀️💨
