Sharing our Singing Shine

Jan

We were delighted to share our shine this week along with 4800 other children from choirs across our region at the first Young Voices concert of 2025. Young Voices are the heartbeat of music for primary schools across the UK, where children and teachers unite in an electrifying choir experience. Through unforgettable concerts, children discover their voices, gain confidence and create lasting memories.

After many weeks of rehearsal in school choir sessions and at home the children were raring to go as they travelled to Sheffield Arena for their final rehearsal and then their evening performance. It was a pleasure to see how much the enjoyed being part of such a large scale and special event alongside so many others who share their passion for music and performing. Despite it being a long day the children represented themselves and St Peter’s incredibly well.

As well as performing with the many other school choirs the children also experienced singing with a range of professional singers including Tommy Blaize, MC Grammar and Souparnika Nair as well as the dance group Urban Strides.

A huge thank you to our choir leaders Miss Potter and Mrs Pywell for organising this fantastic experience. Thank you also to all the parents for helping their children learn all the songs and for supporting them with this experience including all those who travelled to Sheffield to join and watch the concert, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
