World Book Day Celebrations

Mar
We have all Shared our Shine today in so many ways during an absolutely fantastic World Book Day 2024. We are delighted to share some of the highlights.

The day began with a focus on sustainability and recycling with the St Peter’s Book swap. Children brought in their pre-loved books and in exchange received a token which they could use to choose another book.

This was followed by a visit from Pete at Your Harrogate who came to record some of the children talking about their favourite books and life at St Peter’s for the Your Harrogate School of the Week Feature.

Every class enjoyed a visit to St Peter’s brand-new school library to take part in a poster challenge about their favourite word based around the book the Word Collector. Back in class the children enjoyed guessing who the mystery readers were in the masked reader challenge.

The day rounded off with special World Book Day collective worship where children and staff celebrated their favourite books and presented the awards from the Word collector challenge and favourite book competition. Thank you to the children staff and families for all their contributions to a fantastic day. We cant wait for WBD 2025.
