Children from Year Six are thoroughly enjoying their time working with the North Yorkshire Outdoor education Team at the East Barnby Centre this week.
Today they have embarked on a canoe adventure exploring the river Esk, winding their way down to finish in Whitby harbour. Everyone showed great team work to secure the canoes in pairs for extra stability as well as learning how to paddle as a team, changing speed and direction. A picnic lunch on an island in the river was a welcome rest as well as chance to look at and explore river wildlife.
Everyone will be ready for their hot meal tonight back at base to recharge for another full day tomorrow.
