✨ Love, Learn, Shine: Celebrating That We All Belong
As we started a new week, our children gathered together for worship to explore the important theme of Love and Belonging. As part of our ongoing journey of Love, Learn, Shine, we reflected on how God’s love helps every person know that they belong and that nobody is ever forgotten.
Our worship encouraged children to think deeply about what love really means. Together, we discussed how love is choosing to care for others and helping people feel valued, safe and happy. We also explored how being loving means treating others with kindness, care and respect, even when it can sometimes be difficult.
One of the highlights of the worship was a thoughtful activity based around a jigsaw puzzle with a missing piece. Children considered questions such as: How does the puzzle feel with a piece missing? Have you ever felt like the missing piece? What helps someone feel part of the picture again? These discussions helped us reflect on the importance of ensuring everyone feels included, welcomed and valued in our school family.
We then shared the Bible story of The Lost Coin, thinking about how valuable every person is and how much it matters when someone feels lost or left out. The story reminded us that everyone is important and that we should actively show care and kindness to those around us.
During reflection time, children used the “Window, Mirror and Door” approach to think about what they had learned, how it made them feel and what actions they could take moving forward. These moments of reflection help children connect our Christian values with their everyday lives.
As a school community, we continue to live out our vision of Love, Learn, Shine, helping every child to know they are valued, cared for and an important part of God’s family. Through acts of kindness, words of encouragement and a commitment to inclusion, we can all help ensure that everyone feels they truly belong.
A Prayer for Belonging
Dear God,
Thank you that everyone belongs in your family.
Help us to welcome others with kindness and care.
May nobody feel left out or alone.
Teach us to make everyone feel valued and included.
Amen.
