🦅🎨 Street Art with Heart: Eagles Class Spread Kindness

May
This week, our fantastic Eagles Class have been transforming big ideas into bold, meaningful street art with a message of kindness at its core.
Stepping into the shoes of modern artists, the children explored how urban art can be used to share powerful messages. Inspired by vibrant street art — including a visit to explore the wonderful murals right here in Harrogate — the children designed their own colourful, graffiti‑style murals to visually represent our school ethos of kindness, respect and community.
This exciting project brought together creativity, reflection and purpose, perfectly linking to our school vision to Love, Learn and Shine.

Through this project, the children have been:

  • 🎨 Developing artistic techniques using graffiti‑inspired lettering, bold colour palettes and stencilling
  • ✏️ Recording observations in sketchbooks and learning how to adapt, refine and improve their initial designs
  • đź’¬ Discussing how art can communicate positive messages and make people stop, think and smile
Mrs Williams, Eagles Class teacher, shared:
“The children have been so thoughtful throughout this project. They didn’t just focus on how their artwork looked, but on how it made people feel. Their designs show a real understanding of kindness and how art can be used as a force for good.”
One child from Eagles Class said:
“I liked using bright colours because kindness should stand out. I want people to feel happy when they see my artwork.”
We are incredibly proud of how Eagles Class have used their artistic voices to spread positivity and show that, at our school, kindness is always the canvas. This project is a wonderful example of children learning new skills, expressing themselves creatively and shining as thoughtful, compassionate members of our community.
