πŸ—οΈπŸŽΆ Young Architects Take on the Stockeld Park Challenge

Oct
This afternoon, the Year 5 and 6 children in Ravens, Eagles and Herons were lucky enough to welcome a very special visitor. David, Jamie’s grandad and a professional architect, came into school to support the children with an exciting design competition.
The children have been invited by Stockeld Park to create ideas for a brand-new musical structure to be installed in the park. Even more excitingly, the winning design will actually be built, giving children a wonderful opportunity to see their creativity come to life in a real-world setting.
David shared his expertise and experience with the children, helping them to think like architects as they explored the design process. They considered how structures are planned, how creative ideas can be developed and how designs can be both exciting and practical.
The children showed fantastic enthusiasm, imagination and teamwork as they began developing their concepts. It was wonderful to see them asking thoughtful questions and embracing the challenge with such confidence.
This exciting project links closely to our vision of Love, Learn, Shine. The children are learning from experts, collaborating with others and using their creativity to produce innovative ideas. Most importantly, they are being given the opportunity to let their talents shine beyond the classroom.
A huge thank you to David for generously sharing his time and expertise with us. We can’t wait to see the fantastic designs that emerge over the coming weeks! 🌟
