Our Worship Leaders Begin Their Journey

We are delighted to launch our very first team of Worship Leaders at St Peter’s CE Primary School — a special group of children who are already making a wonderful difference to our school community.
This week, the children were proudly presented with their Worship Leader badges, marking the beginning of their important role in helping shape collective worship across our school. We are so excited to see them grow in confidence as they help lead both class and whole-school worship, and even begin to build links with worship in church.
Mr Griffiths shared how incredibly impressed he was with the children who applied for the role. He commented on the thoughtful and carefully considered applications, and how clear it was that so many children wanted to give back to the school community and contribute in such a meaningful way. Their commitment to serving others truly reflects the values at the heart of St Peter’s.
Our Worship Leaders play a key role in making worship invitational, inclusive and inspirational for every child. Through their work, they help bring our school vision of Love, Learn, Shine to life each and every day.
  • Love – ensuring everyone feels welcome, valued and included
  • Learn – helping others reflect, think deeply and engage with worship themes
  • Shine – confidently sharing their ideas and encouraging others to take part
We are already seeing how this initiative is empowering children to take an active role in their school community. From leading prayers and choosing music, to gathering the views of their peers and supporting reflection time, these children are shining examples of what it means to serve others with kindness and purpose.
“I like helping lead worship because it makes everyone feel calm and happy, and we can all think about how to be kind.”
Mr Griffiths said:
“At St Peter’s, we believe every child has a voice and a light to share. I have been so impressed by the care and thought that went into the applications, and by the children’s genuine desire to give back and contribute. Our Worship Leaders are a wonderful example of children living out our vision of Love, Learn, Shine, helping to create meaningful worship that includes everyone.”
As we look ahead, we can’t wait to see our Worship Leaders continue to develop their ideas, inspire others and help our school community to shine brightly together  in school and beyond.
