✨ Worship Leaders Shine ✨

Jun

Today in worship, our children came together to explore the value of respect by thinking about special places. It was a calm and thoughtful time where children reflected on why some places feel important, peaceful and set apart.

We began by thinking about places that are meaningful to us. Children shared ideas about churches, quiet spaces, areas in school and even places at home. These are places where people can feel safe, reflective and close to God.

During worship, we introduced a powerful piece of artwork called The Angry Christ, helping children to see and feel the emotion in the story.

The picture helped bring to life the Bible story of Jesus visiting the Temple in Jerusalem. In the story, Jesus became angry because a place that was meant for prayer and worship had been turned into a busy and noisy marketplace. Children were able to see that Jesus cared deeply about how special places are treated and how important it is that they remain respectful and welcoming for everyone.

We talked about how a special place should feel. Children described places being quiet, calm, beautiful and respectful. They understood that our behaviour plays an important part in helping others to experience these spaces in the right way.

There was some lovely reflection as children considered how they can show respect in special places, both in school and beyond. This linked closely to our school vision.

  • Love as we care about how others feel in shared spaces
Learn as we understand why special places matter
Shine as we show respectful behaviour and set a positive example

We would also like to say a big thank you to our worship leaders who helped deliver today’s worship through their readings and prayers. They are doing a brilliant job of bringing worship to life and leading it so confidently and thoughtfully. We are very proud of the way they are growing in their roles.

We ended our worship with a prayer, reminding us to care for the special places in our lives and in our wider world.

Dear God
Thank you for the special places in our lives
Help us to treat our school with care and respect
Help us to value churches and places of worship all over the world
May they be places of peace, welcome and prayer for everyone
Teach us to show respect in all that we do
Amen

It was a lovely moment of reflection and a wonderful example of how our children continue to live out our vision each day.
