Striding from The Stray: Celebrating our first Walk to School Day of the Year.

Feet First! Celebrating Walk to School Day from The Stray to St Peter’s School.

We were delighted to host our first walking bus of the year from West Park stray this morning to support and celebrate the first of six walk to school days this year. It was lovely to see so many children and families, and even Bear the dog joining us to start the day with a walk. Our two Key Stage Two ‘Playsquad’ leaders did a great job leading us safely on our route across the Stray and up Victoria Avenue to Belford Road and the school gates.

Walking is a great way to start the day providing both physical health benefits like increased exercise and mental health benefits such as improved mood and concentration, and social advantages like time with friends and community connection. It also offers environmental benefits, including reduced traffic congestion and air pollution. If you missed us today don’t worry as there are five more chances (dates below) to join in the walking bus fun throughout the year.
