School Gardening Award

Climate Education

We are delighted to share that as part of our ongoing work on climate education St Peter’s have achieved Level 1 of the RHS School Gardening awards! 🌺🌳🌻.

To achieve this the school with our children have demonstrated a commitment to making to most of green spaces in school including thinking creatively of how we can plant in different places such as our new Β mounted planters on the new playground shelter.

We received a wellbeing garden book and some seeds which I will plant with the Climate Crew.

And Next………..
As part of our climate education work, the Climate Crew have been looking at how to make our school grounds greener and more biodiverse. As part of this work, we plan to launch a gardening club. We have started to plan this work and are pleased to announce thatΒ St Peter’s have just achieved their level 1 RHS School Gardening award! There are 5 levels altogether. However, to work towards level 2, we need the help of our school community…
Are you having a clear out? Do you or any family members/friends have new or used gardening equipment that you would be willing to donate to our new gardening club?
Items that would be useful to start our gardening club include: propagators, seed trays, unopened seed packets, plant pots, planters, watering cans, small handheld gardening tools (such as trowels and week forks) compost, small gardening gloves, a garden tools storage container, bedding plants and a mini/portable greenhouse.
Once we have enough equipment, we look forward to launching our gardening club and planting in the summer term.
Thank you in advance, all donations would be greatly appreciated.
