Every half term, children in Key Stage One start reading a new book in their English lessons. This half term, the children in Sparrows and Finches class will be using ‘The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark’ as their focus book and will ultimately be writing an owl fact file at the end of the half term.
To launch the book, the children were visited by four incredible owls with Olaf the Eagle Owl being their favourite. The children met all four owls, had the chance to ask any questions, then were all given the opportunity to hold and stroke the owls. A huge thank you to Harrogate Birds of Prey and Creature Cave for the best start to our new half term.
