On Wednesday, our Climate Crew took part in an exciting climate change event at RHS Harlow Carr. The children took part in three fascinating workshops about waste and recycling, supporting biodiversity and living in a more eco-friendly way. Mrs Pywell was blown away by the children’s brilliant contributions to the workshops – they threw themselves into every task with enthusiasm and showed super critical thinking skills. They are looking forward to sharing their learning back at school with the other classes through their Eco Crew work and the different events they run in school.
They children are pleased to share some of their reflections from the day below.
“It was really entertaining and my favourite part was using the SEEK app to look at plants. I saw a newt too.”
“I enjoyed the first workshop where we learnt about recycling and rubbish. I loved making the flowers out of old book pages.”
“I enjoyed learning about how much power we use at home by pedalling a bike. I’d have to pedal the bike really fast for 30 minutes to watch 30minutes TV!”
