Safer Internet Day 2026 β Learning to Love, Learn and Shine Online
Although Safer Internet Day offers a special moment in the calendar to shine a spotlight on online safety, we know that helping children stay safe online is something that needs to happen all year round. Technology moves quickly, and days like today help us pause, reflect and reβequip children with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive.
This message sits beautifully within our school vision:
Love β Learn β Shine
We want every child to feel loved and supported in the digital world, learn how to use technology wisely, and shine as responsible, confident digital citizens.
Why Safer Internet Day Matters
Special days like this help children to:
- Understand how to use technology safely and respectfully
- Recognise when something online doesnβt look or feel right
- Know when and how to seek help
- Build positive digital habits that last a lifetime
But the learning doesnβt stop here. Ongoing conversations at school and at home are the most powerful way to embed these messages. Watching, talking and exploring together makes a huge difference.
KS2 Live Lesson β Watch at Home Too!

Our KS2 classes will be taking part in the BBCβs Safer Internet Day Live Lesson throughout the week, and we warmly encourage families to watch it at home too. Itβs a brilliant way to spark meaningful conversation with your child about how they use the internet and how they can stay safe.
