Wrens Enjoy Another Wonderful Trip to the Library

Today our Wrens Early Years children enjoyed another very exciting trip to Harrogate Library! They walked beautifully and carefully down the road, remembering everything they have learned about how a community space should be respected.
When they arrived, the children showed how considerate they could be, reminding each other that a library is a quiet place where people read, work, and enjoy stories. As a class, they headed down to the bottom floor where all the children’s books are kept – a space they always love exploring!
The first task of the morning was especially meaningful. The children created bright and cheerful Easter cards for the library staff to deliver to people who are unable to visit the library themselves. This thoughtful activity allowed them to show kindness to others in our community and truly live out our school vision of Love, Learn, Shine.
After their card-making, the Wrens chose a selection of wonderful books to enjoy together. There were smiles, stories, and lots of excitement as the children discovered new titles and revisited old favourites.

Mrs Renton shared:
“The Wrens were an absolute credit to the school today. They were so curious, so thoughtful, and so respectful. Watching them enjoy stories and take such pride in their Easter cards was just wonderful.”

What a fantastic morning! The children are already looking forward to their next visit.
Harrogate Library offers so much more than books from storytelling sessions and craft activities to seasonal events, community support and child-friendly spaces. We’d love to encourage our families to pop in, explore all the wonderful opportunities on offer, and continue supporting this much‑loved local resource. It’s a brilliant way to help our children grow as enthusiastic readers and shine brightly in their learning.
