📚Mini Books, Big Ideas: Starlings Share Their Stories📚

Nov

Starlings Take Flight as Budding Authors.🖋️ Love, Learn, Shine Through Creative Writing.

This week, Starlings class showcased their incredible creativity by publishing their very own mini books. From the very first spark of an idea to the final neat copy, the children worked with determination and pride. They explored figurative language, drafted and edited their work, and polished their writing to perfection.
The excitement didn’t stop there! Once their beautiful booklets were complete, Starlings shared their stories with Sparrows class. The joy on their faces was clear – they couldn’t wait to take their books home and share them with their families.

Mrs Pywell, Starlings’ class teacher, said:
“I am so proud of the children’s effort and imagination. They have shown real commitment to improving their writing and have produced work they can truly be proud of.”

This project reflects our school vision of Love, Learn, Shine – children loving the process of writing, learning new skills, and shining as confident authors.

We are delighted to share some examples of their writing below.

Questions Parents Could Ask at Home

To help children secure their learning and celebrate their achievement, you might ask:
  • What was your favourite part of writing your story?
  • How did you make your story exciting for the reader?
  • Can you show me an example of figurative language you used?
  • What changes did you make when editing your work?
  • How did it feel to share your book with Sparrows class?
