🎤 From Class to Broadcast. Sparrows Shine as Weather Presenters 🌦️

🌦️ Little Forecasters Take the Stage 🗺️

This week in Sparrows Class, our brilliant Year 2 children have been diving into their local area of Harrogate as part of their Geography learning. With a special focus on the weather, the children explored today’s forecast and watched a real TV weather presenter in action to understand how forecasts are shared with the public.
They discussed key details such as temperature, wind speed, and what people might need to wear or carry to be prepared for the day. The children confidently used new vocabulary including temperature, degrees, sunny, raining, and cold—and they didn’t stop there.
Putting their learning into practice, each child wrote their own weather report and performed it for their classmates, stepping into the shoes of real TV presenters. It was a joy to see their creativity, teamwork, and growing confidence as they spoke clearly and proudly to an audience.
This activity beautifully reflects our school vision to Love, Learn, Shine—with children loving their learning, gaining new knowledge, and shining in front of their peers.
Well done, Sparrows! 🌟
