Throughout this exciting unit, children have:
🖍️ Drawn and labelled their own castles, identifying key features such as towers, battlements, and drawbridges.
📐 Explored 3D shapes, recognising how castles are made up of multiple geometric forms like cylinders, cubes, and prisms.
🎨 Designed castles with specific purposes in mind—whether for defence, royalty, or storytelling—thinking carefully about which features best suit their chosen function.
✂️ Created nets to build their own 3D shapes, developing spatial awareness and precision.
🧷 Used fixing agents such as glue and double-sided tape to securely assemble their structures, learning the importance of strong joins and stability.
The classroom has been buzzing with creativity and problem-solving as pupils brought their castle designs to life. It’s been wonderful to see teamwork, resilience, and pride in every turret and tower!
