We were delighted to welcome so many families back to school on Tuesday evening this week for our Phonics evening and story night event. Chidlren from reception through to year two returned to school in the evening in pyjamas and armed with their favourite cuddly toy to enjoy stories in our newly refurbished Early Year sand Year 1 classroom. They enjoyed three different stories with different reading volunteers from the fabulous FOSP team. While they were enjoying their stories along with milk and cookies parents had the opportunity to talk to staff about how phonics and early reading are taught and how school and families can work together to help children learn to read.
