Storytelling Brought to Life

Jan

Children in Early Years and Key Stage One enjoyed classic storytelling brought to life this week with a visit from travelling theatre company M&M productions. Experiencing the magic of professional theatre in their very own school hall children were transported into a world of magic beanstalks and giants through a live performance of Jack and the Beanstalk. . Developing a love of reading and storytelling is a crucial part of primary education and it was fantastic to be able to provide such a great opportunity to learn a classic story though this live theatre experience free of charge to all children in lower school.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience making comments including;

‘Jack and the Beanstalk was amazing because it was so funny. The egg jokes were ‘egg-cellent’!’ – Year 2

‘My favourite part was when they climbed the beanstalk, I liked the magic.’ – Year 2

‘I really know the story now and am going to read it again.’ – Year 2

‘I didn’t like some of it… I liked all of it!’ – Year 1
