Small Steps, Big Bravery: Exploring Courage Together in Our Worship

Our worship this half term focuses on the Christian value of Courage, inspired by Joshua 1:9:

“Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Children will be exploring what courage looks like in everyday life—stepping out of their comfort zone, doing the right thing (not the easy thing), facing challenges, overcoming fears, and encouraging others.

Ideas for Things to Do at Home

Questions to Ask Your Child
  • Can you remember a time when you thought, “I’ve just got to keep trying”?
  • When did you last step outside your comfort zone to try something new?
  • Do you think courage means never feeling scared? Why or why not?
  • Who do you admire for showing courage? What did they do?
  • How can we encourage others when things go wrong?
