🌺 Love, Learn, Shine: Our Children Lead the Mother’s Day Gift Sale
There was a real buzz around school this week as our annual Mother’s Day Gift Sale returned and what a wonderful event it was! A huge thank you to FOSP for organising, preparing and offering such a lovely range of gifts for children to choose from. The stall looked beautiful, and we are so grateful to the parents who gave their time, energy and creativity to make it all possible.
A special well done to the children in Years 5 and 6, who confidently took the lead in running the stall over playtimes and lunchtimes. They handled money carefully, welcomed younger children with kindness, and made sure everyone could find a little something special to take home. It was a brilliant example of leadership, responsibility and teamwork a true reflection of our school vision to Love, Learn, Shine.
We hope all children enjoyed choosing gifts and that families have a joyful and meaningful Mothering Sunday this weekend.
Mothering Sunday has been celebrated in Britain for centuries. Traditionally, on the fourth Sunday of Lent, people would return to their mother church the main church or cathedral of their area. Over time, this visit became a family gathering, and children working away from home were often given the day off to return to their mothers with small tokens of love.
It gradually evolved into the celebration we know today, where we take the chance to thank mums, grandmas, carers and all those who show love and care within our families and communities.
Events like the Mother’s Day Gift Sale show the real strength of our school community. When FOSP and school work together, it creates rich opportunities for children to shine. Taking responsibility, serving others and contributing to the life of the school helps children grow in confidence and character — and ensures the whole community benefits.
We are grateful for the time, generosity and teamwork that make moments like this possible.
Wishing all our families a happy and peaceful Mothering Sunday.
