👐 Signing Together: MAKATON Magic at Lunchtime!

Feb

🌈 Signing Together – Our MAKATON Club Continues to Shine!

This week in our MAKATON Club, Mrs Jones and Miss Ward continued the children’s learning around our animal theme. Children across all year groups enjoyed learning the signs for butterfly, dog, cat, bird, rabbit, and monkey.
It has been truly wonderful to see children of all ages coming together, learning side by side, and then proudly sharing their new signs with friends and adults across the school. Moments like this show how our children Love, Learn and Shine — learning new skills, celebrating difference, and embracing inclusive communication with enthusiasm.

Mrs Jones shared:
“It’s lovely to see the children supporting one another and showing such pride in learning a new way to communicate. MAKATON is helping our whole school celebrate difference and build understanding.”

Our growing MAKATON community is a fantastic example of how St Peter’s continues to nurture an inclusive ethos, raising awareness of diversity in communication methods and helping every child to feel seen, valued and able to express themselves.

A Reminder for Families

All lunchtime clubs are completely free, and children can join in by signing up on Arbor — or simply by turning up if they decide they’d like to give it a try.
Everyone is welcome, so why not encourage your child to come along next week and see what it’s all about?
