🐴 A Taste of Asia to Celebrate Lunar New Year

Today our school community enjoyed a wonderful celebration of Lunar New Year, beautifully brought to life by our fantastic kitchen team. To mark the Year of the Horse, the children were treated to a themed β€œTaste of Asia” lunch, complete with freshly cooked dishes and colourful decorations that transformed the dining hall into a vibrant festival space.
Lunar New Year is celebrated across many Asian countries and marks the first new moon of the lunar calendar. Each year is linked to one of twelve animals, and 2026 welcomes the energetic and hardworking Horse. The festival is all about new beginnings, family, good fortune and enjoying delicious food together. Children also enjoyed learning why the colour red is so important at this time of year β€” it symbolises good luck, joy and happiness.
Our dedicated kitchen team went above and beyond once again, preparing a menu full of flavour and excitement. Their creativity and care help turn lunchtimes into real learning experiences, and we are so blessed to have a team who always go the extra mile to make our school days sparkle.
This special lunch linked perfectly with our school vision to Love, Learn, Shine:
  • Love – by honouring a festival celebrated by communities around the world
  • Learn – through tasting new foods and discovering the meaning behind Lunar New Year traditions
  • Shine – as our children approached the celebration with joy, curiosity and huge appreciation
A huge thank you to our wonderful kitchen team for another memorable themed lunch that helped our children experience culture, community and creativity in the most delicious way!
