Boom, Snap, Clap! A Musical Adventure in Body Percussion
The children in Herons have been diving into the exciting world of body percussion, discovering how different parts of their bodies can create a variety of sounds. From clapping and snapping to stomping and tapping, they explored how rhythm can come alive without any instruments at all!
As part of this learning journey, the children learned the Boom Snap Clap song and thoroughly enjoyed practising and performing it together. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they experimented with rhythm, coordination, and timing.

Mr Radcliffe shared his thoughts on the activity:
β€œIt was fantastic to see the children so engaged and creative. Body percussion is such a fun way to develop musical skills, and the confidence they showed during the performance was brilliant!”

This activity perfectly reflects our school vision of Love, Learn, Shine – the children loved the experience, learned new musical skills, and truly shone as they performed with pride and joy.
Children and families can follow up this learning at home through a range of fun interactive games and activities in the music section of BBC bitesize which can be accessed via this link here.Β
