Wrens have been busy exploring the brand-new flooring in our much-loved mud kitchen today! This little corner of nature, right in the heart of Harrogate, is a true blessing for our children. Our dedicated Early Years outdoor space is designed with different zones to spark curiosity and creativity, including a beautiful natural zone filled with shade plants, trees, logs, and plenty of opportunities to connect with the world around them.
Children have been building friendships, observing mini-beasts, and engaging in imaginative play all while surrounded by the calming influence of nature. Research shows that time spent in natural environments supports well-being, resilience, and creativity, helping children to develop problem-solving skills and a sense of wonder. It’s not just play it’s learning in its most joyful form.
Mrs Renton shared, “The children love having the freedom to explore and discover. It’s amazing to see their confidence grow as they interact with nature.”
Mrs Ward added, “Our outdoor spaces give children the chance to shine in ways that the classroom can’t always offer. They learn so much from these experiences – about the world, about each other, and about themselves.”
