🍝 Ravens & Eagles Cook Up a Storm in DT! – Love, Learn, Shine in the Kitchen!

This week, our Ravens and Eagles have been busy in the kitchen as part of their Design Technology unit, Developing a Recipe. The children worked in groups to create their own exciting versions of spaghetti bolognaise with some adventurous additions like chilli sauce and even a hint of chocolate!
To make their dishes extra special, the children harvested fresh herbs grown right here in our school playground. They also explored the nutritional value of bolognaise sauces and learned how the traffic light food labelling system helps families make healthy choices.
After cooking, the children carefully packed their culinary delights into takeaway boxes to share with their families at home. Many said the experience had made them more confident to try cooking at home what a fantastic way to Love, Learn, Shine!
The day didn’t stop at cooking. Children designed their own product labels and finished with a drama session, acting out TV commercials to advertise their wonderful creations. It was a brilliant mix of creativity, teamwork and fun!

Quote from the Year 5 & Year 6 Teaching Team
