🌱 Reimagining Our World: Ravens Build a Sustainable City!

Feb

🌍 Ravens Create a Sustainable City!

In Ravens today, the children stepped into the shoes of future engineers, architects and environmental champions as they worked together to build their very own sustainable city. Their creativity shone as they considered how communities might live more responsibly and care for our planet.
The children explored a range of environmentally friendly power sources, using hydro‑electricity, solar power and wind turbines to bring their miniature city to life. They also thought carefully about land use designing tall buildings to save ground space while still providing plenty of room inside.
To reduce air miles and protect natural habitats, the children added rooftop food gardens, green spaces and wildlife‑friendly areas across their city. These thoughtful touches encouraged biodiversity and demonstrated a real sense of responsibility for the world around them.

✨ A Message from Mrs Jaeger

“I was so impressed by how thoughtfully the children approached the idea of sustainability today. They didn’t just build a city – they imagined a kinder, greener future. Their ideas were inspiring and showed such pride in caring for our world.” – Mrs Jaeger
This learning links beautifully to our school vision Love • Learn • Shine, as children showed love for creation, learned through teamwork and problem‑solving, and shone with their inventive ideas.

🌱 Next Steps & Home Exploration

If children would like to continue exploring these ideas at home, they might enjoy:
  • Designing an improved version of their city model
  • Investigating renewable energy at home or in their community
  • Creating a poster showing how families can reduce their carbon footprint
  • Exploring how wildlife can be supported in gardens and outdoor spaces
