🌟 Resilient Coders: Starlings Shine in Scratch🖥️

Nov
Today, our Starlings class stepped into the exciting world of coding using Scratch to design their very own simple maths games. It was a real challenge, but the children showed incredible resilience, creativity, and problem-solving skills as they worked hard to make their sets of actions come to life.
From debugging tricky sequences to celebrating those “aha!” moments, the classroom was buzzing with determination and teamwork. This activity wasn’t just about coding—it was about learning how to persevere when things get tough and shining with pride when success comes through effort.
And the adventure doesn’t stop here! Next week, the children will build on these foundations to create more complex games, adding new features and exploring even deeper into the world of programming. We can’t wait to see their ideas take shape.
At St Peter’s, we believe every child can Love learning, shine brightly, and discover new ways to express their creativity—and today was a perfect example of that vision in action.

Follow-Up at Home

If your child enjoyed today’s coding challenge, here are some ideas to keep the excitement going at home:

âś… Ask questions like:

  • “What was the trickiest part of making your game work?”
  • “How did you fix it when something didn’t go as planned?”
  • “If you could add one new feature to your game, what would it be?”
