🧭 Adventure Ahoy: Day Three at Bewerley Park. πŸ’¦ From Mines to Waterways – A Day of Discovery.

Day Three at Bewerley Park.

After a restful night and a hearty, freshly cooked breakfast, our children were full of energy and ready for another day of adventure in the beautiful surroundings of Nidderdale. Spirits were high as they met with their group leaders to plan the day ahead, discussing the skills and attitudes needed to make the most of their experiences. It was wonderful to see them taking responsibility for getting themselves kitted out and ready to go true independence in action!
Some groups headed straight for the water, taking part in exciting aquatic activities that tested their courage and teamwork. While we don’t have many photos from this part (for very splashy reasons!), the smiles and stories shared afterwards said it all.
Meanwhile, other groups explored the fascinating Gillfield Mine. The children were captivated by the history of mining in the area and got hands-on with geology, learning about different types of rocks and the stories they tell. It was a brilliant way to bring science to life in a real-world setting.
Another group ventured to the iconic Brimham Rocks, where they tackled physical and team challengesβ€”including the legendary Smarties Tube! The children showed incredible resilience, problem-solving skills and, most importantly, support for one another. It was heart-warming to see them encouraging their teammates and celebrating each other’s successes.
Throughout the day, our children truly embodied our school vision: Love, Learn, Shine. They showed love through their care and encouragement for one another, learned through hands-on exploration and discovery, and shone brightly as they embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and joy.

We’re so proud of each and every child for their positivity, teamwork and sense of adventure.
