Year 3 & 4 Footballers Show Determination and Teamwork at Rossett High!

On Tuesday evening, children from Year 3 and 4 took part in an exciting football competition at Rossett High, organised by Sporting Influence and supported by Rossett High’s young leaders, who gained valuable experience in refereeing and running the event.
Our children played brilliantly throughout the group stages, winning all three matches:
  • 1–0 against All Saints
  • 5–2 in a goal-filled game against Starbeck
  • 2–0 against Killinghall
These fantastic results meant we progressed to the next stage to face the winners of the other group. The final match against Pannal ended in a tense 0–0 draw, thanks to some incredible saves from Kit, who bravely took on the role of goalkeeper for all matches.
Despite the very cold conditions, the children showed outstanding determination, teamwork, and resilience. Goals came from across the team, with nearly every child getting on the scoresheet – a true team effort! Parents cheered enthusiastically from the side-lines, joined by Mrs Oldfield and Mr Griffiths, creating a wonderful atmosphere of support and encouragement.
Mrs Oldfield said:
“I was so proud of how the children worked together and supported each other. Their determination and positivity really shone through – they truly lived out our vision to Love, Learn, Shine.”
A huge thank you to all parents for coming along and to every child for representing St Peter’s so brilliantly. You embodied our school vision to Love, Learn, Shine – showing love for the game, learning through teamwork, and shining with your sporting spirit.
Well done, Team St Peter’s!
