✨ Wrens Get Ready to Shine in Their Palm Sunday Storytelling

Feb

🌿 Hosanna! Wrens Explore the Joy of Palm Sunday

This week in RE, Wrens class have been diving into the story of Palm Sunday as part of their learning about the Easter story. The children listened to a passage from the Bible describing Jesus’ arrival into Jerusalem, where the townspeople waved palm leaves and laid them on the road to show their joy and respect.
The children were especially excited to learn a brand‑new word  “Hosanna!” — and discovered that it’s a joyful shout of praise used by the crowd as Jesus rode into the city on a donkey.
To help bring the story to life, Wrens created their very own handmade palm leaves, which they will be using as props next week when they act out the story together. Their creativity and enthusiasm really shone through!
Mrs Renton said:
“The children were so thoughtful in their learning today and loved discovering the meaning behind Palm Sunday. Their palm leaves look fantastic, and I can’t wait to see their storytelling next week!”
This learning links beautifully to our school vision of Love, Learn, Shine showing love through understanding the story’s message, learning through exploring new vocabulary and traditions, and shining as they share the story together next week.
