♻️ Sustainable Superstars: Our Young Designers Shine

Feb

🌍 Building a Better World

As we reach the exciting end of our Geography unit, “Sustainable World: Does it Matter How We Live?”, the children in Herons, Eagles and Ravens have proudly unveiled their very own sustainable building models. Using boxes, recycled materials and lots of imagination, they have worked collaboratively to design structures that reflect real‑life eco‑ideas.
It didn’t always go to plan — walls fell down, roofs slid off, and some ingenious features needed re‑thinking — but every challenge was met with brilliant resilience. The children showed determination, flexibility and creativity as they tried alternative methods to achieve their vision. We are so proud of every child for the way they embraced the learning, supported each other and shone throughout the project.

⭐ A word from Mrs Robbins

“The children showed such wonderful teamwork and problem‑solving. Their creativity really flourished as they explored what it means to live sustainably, and they should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved.”Mrs Robbins
This project beautifully reflects our school vision: Love, Learn, Shine — learning with curiosity, caring for God’s world, and shining through determination and creativity.

🏡 Follow‑Up Ideas for Families at Home

If your child has been inspired, here are some simple ways to continue the conversation:
  • Design a ‘mini eco‑home’ together using household recycling.
  • Spot sustainable features when out and about — solar panels, bike lanes, recycling points.
  • Try a small eco‑challenge such as a no‑waste lunchbox day or turning off lights together.
  • Chat about choices at home — what small changes help us live more sustainably?
